To Want or Not to Want

Perhaps when we find ourselves wanting everything, it is because we are dangerously close to wanting nothing.” — Sylvia Plath

Which do you find more dangerous: wanting nothing, or wanting everything? ~ The Daily Post

Tell me what you think, is it possible to want everything or to want nothing?

If I said that I wanted everything would that make me greedy? If I were to get everything I wanted would I run out of things to want and therefore, want nothing?

If I wanted everything would that mean what I really want is not really ‘everything’ at all? What if I did get everything would that also mean all my deep inner needs would be obtained? Therefore, I would now want for nothing?

If I were to tell you that I wanted nothing, would you believe me? How can a person today not want something? Don’t we need to want for food and water in order to survive?

But if I had wanted everything and got everything, would there be nothing left to want? Would I then want for nothing?

What if I didn’t have much yet said I wanted nothing, would that mean I am happy with what I have? Or would you think me depressed and suicidal?

Is it even possible to not want anything at all?

Where do you think the danger lies? Or should Sylvia Plath keep her secret?

When I Die

Let me get this straight, I am not looking forward to dying and I certainly don't want it to happen anytime soon. But… I do look forward to going to Heaven.

You see, I believe in the Afterlife. I believe that being on this earth is NOT where it ends for us. I believe that our loved ones are in Heaven and are waiting for us to return so we can all be a family again.

I believe we all began in heaven as angel spirits and our spirits were sent to this earth to be born from our “earthly parents.”

I believe we are all our Heavenly Father's children and therefore, we are all brothers and sisters and that Heaven is our Home.

I believe in a Forever that is so astonishingly beautiful, our earthly minds are incapable of imagining how beautiful.

I believe we will see colors that we have never seen before and they will be so beautiful that no words exist to describe them.

I believe we will live in a state of pure happiness, joy, and bliss; there will be no sorrow, no pain, or no tears. We will also be able to feel the pure Love of our Lord, Jesus Christ and of our Heavenly Father.

We will not have the aches and pains that we have on this earth. Our bodies will be young and beautiful again. We will also understand what our purpose was on this earth and we will understand things that we cannot understand as earthly humans.

I believe that my sweet niece, who took her life in October, is in Heaven, and that I will see her again; and I will see my cousin who died when she was 19, I will see my beloved grandmother, and I will see all my loved ones who have passed from this earthly life before me.

I didn't live a plenary life in my younger years. Yet, I know that I am forgiven, and I have been given the awesome Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know I am loved more than I ever thought possible. His Love has embraced me in His Grace and in His Mercy.

This is what I look forward to; Heaven. I don't look forward to the dying process. (As a matter of fact, it scares me). But I do believe when that time comes Jesus will be right there so that I no longer will be afraid.

Happy Happy Joy Joy

The happiness and joy of a baby or small child is picture perfect of the essence of joy. Their innocence absolutely captures the embodiment of joy. Their joy isn't marred by the questions of “what ifs” or of the emotions that we all learn as we journey through our lives. Their joy is sheer unadulterated joy. Beautiful priceless joy.

Jesus Christ taught us that we must be “born again” in order to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

Does this mean we must become “like” little babies?

I believe he means we must shed our past and ours sins through baptism and live our lives encased in His joy, the joy of Jesus Christ and the Grace of God. By doing so, we become like little children inasmuch as our joy is unadulterated and complete.

I don't believe it is possible to live on this earth and not have troubles, even if we are born again Christians. But I do believe it is possible to “turn our troubles over to The Lord” and be free of their burden upon us. This isn't easy to do. It takes a whole lot of faith. But faith is what Jesus Christ asks of us.

Babies are joyous because they have faith in their mother. They know she is going to take care of all of her/his needs and love her/him unconditionally. They are not burdened with the fears that we adults learn to have during the journey of our lives. They are not wounded by mistakes and wrong choices. (This of course does not include babies who are abused or neglected).

I wish we all could experience joy in the same way that babies experience it. I wish we all could shed those fears and learned behaviors that affect our happiness.

I wish we all could be like little children living in a world where there were no evil, no fear, and no learned behaviors that rob us of our sweet priceless innocent joy.

I wish we all could sit down together and have cookies and milk.

This Lost Lamb (A Christmas Message)

I hate to admit it, but I am that terrible, horrible, disgusting sinner, that Jesus Christ had to come to this earth for. I am that person that rebelled against my parents, rebelled against my marriage, and rebelled against God. However, this is what really gets to me the most, God, through Jesus Christ, left his celestial paradise and came to this horrid sin-filled earth BECAUSE HE LOVES ME! I was that lost lamb that he came to earth to find and bring back to him. He was not willing to lose me to the wolves and other prey of this world that were getting their hold on me.

When I was at my worst and at my darkest time, believing I was beyong saving, my blessed Savior was still there for me. NO TO THE HELL FOR ME! Jesus Christ would have none of that! He was there to rescue me out of those evil jaws!

Something knocked me in the head and I repented and opened my eyes; and my life has not been the same since. (Thank you Jesus! Thank you God!)

Thank you Lord, for leaving your heavenly home to find me and bring me back to your safe and loving arms. Thank you for your precious Grace. Thank you for coming to this earth to rescue me from my sins. I now know your voice and I do not want to be anywhere else, except in your celestial kingdom with you for all eternity.
