He had been married to her since he was 20 years old and they were married 45 years. Sadly, cancer took her one week ago after a long courageous battle.
Although he knew that death would happen it didn't make it any easier when she died. He held her in his arms, dropped his head into her chest and cried like a baby. It wasn't going to be easy for him to let her go.
He sighed deeply as they released the doves and he realized she was finally free from all the pain. For a moment, he was happy.

I realize these are not doves but the photo reminded me of releasing doves. This is my 100 word story for the flash fiction challenge, Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers.
