FFfAW-Pot of Gold

We chased the the rainbow for miles, looking for the pot of gold at the end. We were just kids and believed in the silly tale.

Trying to find the end of the rainbow wasn't easy but finally we found it! To our disappointment the pot of gold at the end was a little camp trailer.

I was devastated! Randall and I had plans to spend all that money we would find at the end.

Randall kissed me and dried the tears from my cheeks.

“Aww honey, it was the fun that counts.”

“Let's go home.” I told him.

“No, let's go inside the trailer. Maybe there will be something interesting.”

We carefully walked up to the trailer and knocked on the door.

The door slowly creaked open and an old lady stuck her head out the door.

To my surprise she asked us if we were Randall and Bess.

“Yes! How did you know that?”

“I know a lot of things,” she smiled.

Then handed us a check from my grandmother. My inheritance.

FFfAW-The Old Man

He is an old man, his teeth gnarly and his hair unkept. He sits on his front porch smoking a pipe and after years of smoking his few teeth are yellowed.

Whenever I walk by I hold my breath and not step on any cracks in the sidewalk. If I stepped on the cracks I would be haunted by this scary old man.

My mom tells me there is nothing to be afraid of, he is just a harmless old man but my dreams tell me otherwise.

He is to be feared. After all, everyone is afraid of old age.

Morgan’s Sound

Mr. Samuels has a yacht that is moored at Morgan's Sound. It has been there for ten years and not once has he been out to use it. I know this because my parent's have a boat that is moored right next to Mr. Samuel's yacht. We go to it every weekend.

I have always wondered about Mr. Samuels. I imagined him to be an old man that wasn't physically able to come enjoy his yacht.

But, I recently found out why he hasn't come to his yacht. He is in prison for embezzlement and has been for 10 years.

FFfAW-My Hero

I was in a sculpturing class in college and one of our projects was ice sculpturing. I was excited about this project and began thinking about what I could sculpt. I decided to let it be a surprise.

I took my block of ice into the vault freezer at school and began sculpting. I took pieces off here and there and sanded this and that. I continued working hoping I would like my finished product.

The day of the reveal had come. I took my sculpture out to the floor where we were unveiling our pieces. I took a last look at my sculpture before my reveal and took a deep breath.

As I lifted the cloth off of the piece my classmates began to clap.

“Who is it?” They asked.

“My little brother.”

My little brother has cerebral palsy and he is my hero.

FFfAW-Lights Out

Ginger and Sam went to the museum to spend a fun afternoon. As they were looking at the dinosaur skeletons the lights went out.

“Sam, Sam, where are you? I can't see you!”

“I'm right here Ginger, don't move. I'll find you.”

Both of them were groping around in the dark trying to get back together and both were hoping the lights would come back on.

Suddenly, there was a loud, ROAR.

“Sam, help, I am afraid!”

Sam didn't respond.

“SAM! HELP! WHERE ARE YOU?”

Still, no response. Nothing but darkness and quiet.

Suddenly, Ginger heard the huge Dinosaur burp.

FFfAW-A New Taste

My husband and I went to a new restaurant. I was anxious to try some of the new foods. However, not knowing what anything was, I decided to let it be a surprise.

I ended up ordering, Munfushie. I had no idea what it was but I was looking forward to tasting it.

When my plate arrived I saw this strange looking food staring at me. What in the hell is this? I asked. The waiter quickly said,

“Munfushie is a plant found in the high country. It is battered and fried.”

I cautiously tasted it and was pleasantly surprised.

FFfAW-My New Home

I am on my way to my new home. I'm scared because I don't know what to expect. I hope my new owner is good to me and feeds me everyday. But I sure am going to miss my mamma. Thinking about my mamma, I am going to cry because I am going to miss her so much and miss my siblings so much.

Please, please, please let my new owner be nice to me. I hope I am not scared for long. It was sweet of her to adopt me but I sure am going to miss my mamma.
