FFfAW-Dream Vacation

My dream had always been to go to Holland. Why Holland? I don't know why except that it had always intrigued me.

Finally, I was able to go to Holland and I was mesmerized by the old windmills and beautiful flowers that grow on acres and acres of land.

The people there were friendly and welcoming.

I didn't want to leave. I wanted to stay there forever and live among all it's beauty.

But, I had to go home and now all I have of Holland are memories and pictures.

Now my dream is to go to beautiful Australia.

  1. Coming back to reality after a wonderful holiday is always a downer – best to plan the next one straightaway 🙂 I would love to visit Australia one day too, and I’ve only seen Holland from a coach as we drove through it!

  2. Sounds like someone who got the “travel bug.” Once you go to one foreign land and realize how exciting and wonderful it can be, you want to travel even more. I can totally relate to this story. Good one!

  3. It is important to read, as the freedom to travel is often beyond our means. Reading life as seen by those who post on this and other sites helps me to travel in my mind.

  4. Talk about Serendipity, I am reading Bill Bryson’s Down Under nowadays. And this character sounds like my wife. We come back from one vacation, and she’s already planned the next three 🙂

  5. Ohhh Holland…I bet that is beautiful!! Hey you can come with me when I go to Australia…that’s always been my dream spot and now that we have friends there…we can make it happen! Good evening PJ!! I hope your day was spectacular and that the little critters are doing great!! ((HUGS!!)) xoxo 🙂

  6. I think Holland would be a wonderful place to visit. The tulips would be beautiful.
Yes, coming home can be a let down. Vacations are always fun and restful. I think Australia
is another place that would be interesting. Aahhh … you’ve left me with places I’d like to travel
today. Nicely written, PJ. Sadly, I’m off to the food market.
    Issy 😎

  7. I’d like to see Australia myself, but Wallie is a homebody. The wallabies scare him, too! This is a nice, vivid story from the perspective of an adventurous mind. 🙂

  8. Nice. I’ve never been to either, but I hear they are both beautiful places. Most of my friends who’ve been to Eorope love either/or Italy and The Netherlands the most. My brother had been to Australia twice. Once for about 6 months. He loved it and his pictures looked like it was much fun. He can home early the first time, he got a bit bored as his friends and roommates worked in the day, but he did everything he could do going into the outback, visiting Adelaide, Cranberra, Sydney, and few other places. Some friends met him there as part of their vacations and he saw some tourist stuff too. He had a working Visa, but I think he just liked travelling and he’s always been a good saver. A few years later, he returned to visit his friends for three weeks at Christmas 🙂 Great story. I missed reading your works!

    • That is very interesting about your brother. I have not been to either of those places either. Maybe one day you will be able to go. I doubt that I will because it isn’t easy for me to travel. Thank you so much Mandi!

      • You never know PJ 🙂 I understand though. The long plane rides are brutal. Even I find that when they’re beyond 3 or 4 hours. My Dad goes to China about 3 times every couple of years. The flight is like 15 hours and one usually has to switch over in Vancouver. So, that’s no fun for me. I really hopeI do get there. To both those places. I think I’ve said b4, Italy and various cities there is my dream trip. So, I’d love to go their first. Also, my parents were in England, Scotland, etc last year and I never thought I’d want to visit, but being an English Major & History minor, and having maintained those interests through my freelance work and reading, there are many nice places there as well.
Where’s your favorite place you’ve ever travelled?

I would love to read your thoughts...
