FFfAW-The Magic Brook

My daughter, Sharla and her friend Macy, loved going to the brook at the back of our house. They loved to wade through the cool water on hot days.

I didn't mind. I knew it was safe as I often went back there to check that it was. Besides, if there was a problem it was only about 50 steps to our house.

One day Sharla came running into the house screaming,

“Mom, mom! We found gold in the creek!”

I went outside to see what it was they had found thinking it would only be fool's gold.

Sure enough, there were gold nuggets glittering on the bottom of the brook.

Making several trips, we picked up the nuggets and took them to the house.

We had 16 ounces of gold. At $1,350.00 an ounce, we had almost $22,000 worth of gold. The girls will split it and have about $11,000 each. A nice little savings to put away for college.

I realized, this is a magical little brook at the back of our house.

Thank you Enisa for our photo prompt this week!

  1. Yay a jackpot! I am sure the magical Brook has a lot of treasures in there. I also hope that they don’t pay a price for it. Loved this sweet story PJ❀️

  2. Lovely story, but tis best to keep the magic to yourself. For a couple of years I found coins in a stream by the local pub. The coins paid for many a packet of crisps. But when I told the other kids on the block the coins for some reason stopped being found.πŸ˜‰

  3. I’ll be stopping by that brook to pick up some of that gold. Have you taken it all??? LOLOL
FUN … FUN … FUN … story, PJ. Your imagination on this one is in full operation mode.
I liked your story of hope very much. Imagine the college savings you’d have.
    Have a super weekend …
    Issy 😎

  4. Ohhh wouldn’t that be wonderful to have in your backyard!! And it replenished itself every day…ha! Good evening PJ! I hope you had a marvelously fantastic day today!! Miss talking with you every day!! ((HUGS!!)) xoxo πŸ™‚ ❀

    • I have been thinking about you this afternoon and thinking the same thing. I have missed you! LOL! It would be nice to have a brook like that behind our homes and it gave gold every single day! I have had a marvelous day and I hope you did too! ((HUGS!!)) xoxoxo

      • I have had a bit of withdrawals and yet also enjoyed having the evenings to relax. Which has been very nice. Yes such a brook would be so great!! Happy to hear your day was marvelous. Yes mine was too and of course it’s Friday night and the weekend is here, so all it well!! xoxo πŸ™‚

        • I’m glad you have the evenings to relax now, you need that after working hard all day and all week. Yes, it is FRIDAY! I forgot about that. I kept up with it when you were doing your daily grateful posts. I hope you have a relaxing and wonderful weekend! I plan to. LOL!!

          • Thanks, it has been nice!! Doing my usual, shopping, laundry etc…hope you & your critters relax and enjoy your weekend too!!

          • I too have the weekend chores to do but plan on getting lots of R&R with my feisty critters. They are really playing with each other tonight. LOL! It’s fun to watch. xoxo

          • Glad to hear there’s a lot or R&R on the menu!! Oh that must be so fun to watch them play with each other. That’s like when I put out the bird feeders I put out nuts for the squirrels and they are so cute to watch…I find it very relaxing. xo

          • They do, they don’t share very well with each other, but that’s half the fun of watching them. I love when they go at each other they jump straight up in the air, it’s amazing and incredibly funny to watch. And other times I see them grooming each other, like cats, it’s very sweet.

I would love to read your thoughts...
