FFfAW-What Is It?

“What do you think it stands for?” Jerri asked.

“I think it looks like an eyeball,” Jemma replied.

“Well I think it stands for our oceans and how we are killing off certain species of whales.”

“I see what you mean.”

“It looks like the circle of life that is in our oceans and the arrows are killing this circle of life. The arrows stand for destruction by humans.”

Jerri looked at Jemma and saw how deeply it had affected her.

“Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you sad.”

“The death of the whales makes me sad, Jerri.”

Thank you Jade M. Wong for our photo prompt this week!

  1. Isn’t it interesting with art how everyone sees it so differently? how everyone interprets it their own way……… how people are affected by it in so many different ways?

  2. “It looks like the circle of life that is in our oceans and the arrows are killing this circle of life. The arrows stand for destruction by humans.”

wow. what a deep thought about this photo from Jade. it is indeed sad dear PJ!

  3. An excellent take on this prompt, Joy! You have conveyed the message of the destruction of whales with this piece of art, and it is very sad that humans would do such a thing. Great post. 🙂

  4. I wonder, if twenty people stood around this, silently, and wrote what they felt or interpreted this to be, and then passed their thoughts to the person on the left, how many people would then see it differently?

I can see this interpretation now….quite clearly.

  5. Jenni (or is it, Jemma – I’m not really sure) is clearly a very thoughtful and caring person. The effect of humanity on the natural world is something that makes me sad, as well. A thought-provoking story, PJ. Nicely done. 🙂

    • It is sad that in the name of greed some of our wildlife, including in our oceans, are being killed mercilessly, and some going extinct. Once they are gone – – they are gone. Thank you so much for reading Louise and for your comment.

  6. Oh wow what a very interesting take on that pic…I can absolutely see it…now that you say that. Very deep of you PJ…don’t know what I would have come up with, but I think what you saw is very accurate. Well done!! 🙂

  7. Art is so interesting as no people have the same reactions to apiece, especially a fascinating one like this. The death of whales would make me sad too but I seemed to get more feathers from this one, bird like I guess. Great job!

I would love to read your thoughts...
