FFfAW — Tropical Snow

Have you ever heard the term, “A cold day in hell?” The Tropics are a far cry from hell, but it snowed in the Tropics!

Children are outside with homemade sleds and families are building snowmen. Everyone is having a ball from this unlikely snowstorm.

The sandy beaches are covered with snow. People are at the beach building snow castles instead of sand castles. The bikini has been replaced with sweaters, long leggings and boots complimented with gloves and warm hats.

It's certainly not a cold day in hell but it sure is a cold day! We're having a ball!

  1. I also addressed the climate in my story, but to a much sadder effect.

That said, in those places where it rarely snows, when it finally does, people to have license to play.

  2. I grew up with snowy Winters, until I was 10. Then we moved to a warm area with beaches for a few years. One time, there was an ice storm there. Everyone was shocked and not sure how to react. It was exciting, though!
I am new here, so hope to be accepted. I am not new to writing, however!

    • I imagine it was very exciting and different and because of that people enjoyed it! We are so glad you have found us and are participating in the challenge with us. I am visiting family out of state right now and am not reading the stories this week but next week the challenge will be back to normal.

  3. Ohhh yes! I could totally not relate to this story. It was two years ago during December period it got so cold in Sudan, that it actually snowed in some parts. It was unbelievably real
