No Safe Place to Park – FFfAW

Carolyn parked her SUV at her boyfriend's house while they went on an European vacation. She felt it would be safe there and be undisturbed. But she was wrong.

Robbers broke into the house and stole the computers, laptops, televisions, and other electronic equipment, along with other valuables.

When they came back from vacation, Ray found his home burglarized and stripped of all his valuables. Carolyn found her SUV gone. The robbers had used her vehicle to haul all the equipment off.

The SUV was found in another city stripped of everything.

So much for a safe place to park!

  1. Great story, Joy and unfortunately this type of thing happens a lot. That’s a terrible shock to come back home and find that robbers have taken your property. There is a feeling of violation there as well. My daughter had her SUV which was packed with everything she owned and having just arrived at her brother’s house late in the day she decided to unpack the next day, but her SUV was stolen that night! She never recovered her things, but the SUV was found 3 days later with 600 miles put on it and it was trashed inside. It took her a very long time to get over that.

    • That is so sad! The same type of thing happened to my brother and his wife. They were moving to Arizona and had rented a UHaul which had everything they owned. During the night while they were in the motel, someone stole the UHaul and took all their things. Several weeks later the UHaul was found but all the things were gone and they had tried to burn the UHaul. They never found out who did it. I feel so sorry for your daughter because that is a difficult thing to get over. It was also hard for my brother and his wife.

  2. Oh my… a bit disturbing for me. This actually happened to me. Of course, my car was parked at my home but we went on vacation and our home was burglarized. The thieves used my car to haul my things away. I wrote about it on my blog in 2103. A long time ago. Of course I think this is a great story. 😎
BTW … it was my neighbors son who lived in the house behind us. My eldest daughter was friends with his sister. She told her friend we were going away. He heard that and decided our things could be sold and he could have money for drugs. His mother enlisted the boy into the marines. 😳
    Great ending 😎

I would love to read your thoughts...
