FFfAW Memories

I love going to our cabin in the woods in the fall when the leaves are magnificent colors.

Today, as I drive to our special place I remember all the memories we made together.

I remember fishing in the stream, having bonfires on chilly evenings and cooking hotdogs and marshmallows over the fire.

I remember frying fish at night and biscuits and gravy in the mornings.

I remember wading through the stream while wet sand squished between my toes and how I laughed because you squealed when a fish touched your ankle.

Those are the days I love to remember.

  1. A lovely suspended ending

“Those are the days I love to remember.”

There are others less likeable for sure and it’s a great way of showing us.

    • Yes, that is true. The person he is remembering has passed away. I didn’t realize that there is a tombstone sitting next to this house until after I had written my story. So, it unexpectedly tied in! LOL! Thank you Ali!

  2. Wonderful story with lots of great memories, which will stay with with you always. πŸ™‚ We can’t physically go back in time and recapture those days, but we do have memories to reflect on.

  3. What beautiful memories! Those are the ones you cherish and never forget!! Love that picture too…Fall is so pretty here in New England. Do your trees’ leaves change colors?

I would love to read your thoughts...
