FFfAW – Beginning of the End

Each of the scientists carefully examined the alien bodies under their microscopes. These tiny bodies had been found lying in clusters near their crashed ship.

Suddenly, one of the scientists jumped up and shouted.

“No! I cannot believe this!”

The other scientists stopped working and rushed over to the scientist.

“What? What have you found?” they urgently asked.

“These are the organisms that began life on earth. The same organisms that evolved into what we are today, humans.”

“How can that be?” asked the other scientists, “Do you think that another planet in the universe is evolving into becoming a planet like earth?”

The worried scientist answer grimly, “What I believe is they have come to earth to begin evolving again.”

“But, why? Why would they need to come back and start evolving again?”

“It means, life on earth as we know it, is going to end.”

  1. great story! but how sad to discover that your end is approaching. this is really classic fiction. i can just imagine the horrified faces of the usually sedate scientists.

  2. I really enjoyed this story, almost makes you believe that dinosaurs could still exist if someone had gone back that far to evolve again after the meteor wiped them out.

  3. That photo really does lend itself well to a science fiction mood, doesn’t it? Great take on that classic theme that we (in some form) will eventually be the cause of our own destruction. Scary thought!

  4. Loved this, PJ! Loved the creativity of it. Organisms that started all life on Earth, returning to start anew. There’s a science fiction novel waiting to burst out of that story!

  5. You’ve got a great imagination. But how many times has this happened? Maybe the next time it will all come out perfectly. A real Utopia! Wouldn’t that be nice?

  6. Whoa…that’s a very interesting take!! Do aliens entice you, are you curious about them? You write about them often…so I’m wondering if you find them fascinating. Do you believe in aliens? Could you send one to do more job…lol!!

  7. If these little aliens were are ancestors, seems pretty terrible to be dissecting them on the table. I don’t blame them for coming to earth to end it. Great take PJ. I love the sci-fi vibe everyone is into this week ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Hmm.. Maybe they realize we’ve gone too far (ruining the earth, killing each other, etc) that they decided to start all over again! Great story, PJ! ๐Ÿ˜€

  9. An interesting and thought-provoking story, PJ. Maybe with their next evolutionary path humanity can do a better job with more understanding and compassion. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Oh no! But then, we haven’t done so good with the earth we have, have we? Or, at least, we can try harder to do better…

Sorry I’m so late in responding

    • Unfortunately, we haven’t done that good of a job taking care of this earth. If life were to begin again I sure hope we could all get it right the second time! Thank you for reading, Ellespeth! I hope you are doing better.

I would love to read your thoughts...
