FFfAW-The Keyhole Door

Although I walk by the Photo Center door every day, it was when I was driving by one day I noticed it was shaped like a keyhole. After that, many strange things began to happen to me every time I walked by.

Quickly walking by one day, the heel on my high heels broke, another time, the wind blew away my scarf. That's when it occurred to me that this door was bidding me to come in.

Never seeing anyone coming in or out of that door, I wondered what could possibly be inside?

I cautiously opened the door and stepped inside and could hardly believe my eyes. It wasn't a Photo Center. There was a child's Ferris wheel and carousal, among other things. As I walked over to the carousal, I immediately became a child again.

When it was time for me to go, I walked out the door and became the adult me again, feeling happier than ever before.

Now realizing, child-like wonder and play is the 'key' to youthful happiness.

  1. Ahh, I think people who retain a li’l bit of the child in them lead happier lives. I wish there was a door like this πŸ™‚ You put a nice spin to the photo, PJ! Enjoyed it.

  2. I think this would help ..”Now realizing, child-like wonder and play is the ‘key’ to youthful happiness.” Adults have a tendency to forget how to be carefree and play sometimes when we are so wrapped up in the struggles of life. Wonderful story, Joy! I would love to enter that room and just forget everything, if even for a short time! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Jessie! Yes, that will help! I would love to go into that room too and be a child again. How wonderful it would be to feel freedom from responsibilities and cares. I think it would give me a “new lease on life.” Thank you so much for your wonderful comment.

  3. Childlike wonder is such a joy to see, and for an adult to recapture just a few moments of it must be wonderful. The Photo Center is a strange place – I wonder whether your character will go back? Uplifting story, PJ. πŸ™‚

I would love to read your thoughts...
