FFfAW – Science Class

The chill in Dr. Pineyard's laboratory dropped 10 degrees as soon as he acquired that creepy human skeleton, whom I named Uncle Bob.

Uncle Bob's hollow eyes stared a hole through me while I quietly worked on my science project. I couldn't escape his frigid stare or from the cold chill running up my spine.

After weeks of his constant stares, I finally got a reprieve. Dr. Pineyard acquired another full human skeleton, who I quickly named, Aunt Bee. Uncle Bob and Aunt Bee fell madly in love and stared at each other instead of at me.

  1. Lovely and creepy at the same time! Nice that Uncle Bob found his ‘soulmate’ πŸ˜‰ but I’d probably be even more freaked out if I saw the two skeletons staring into each other’s eyes, lovingly. Haha!

  2. Two “people” who can genuinely say they love each other’s bones. Although, in the words of Queen, they’re presumably still looking for some body to love.
    Nice story.

  3. Reading through some people’s stories it is fascinating how many of us still feel this sense of life be it good or bad in a skeleton. Even though he is just a pile of preserved bones Uncle Bob creeps your student out. I’m glad he found his partner in Aunt Bee. Again putting life into skeletons as if they could have a relationship. It’s quite funny. But I’m glad that Uncle Bob is no longer staring. Great writing PJ.

  4. Like the others, I really like your idea of Uncle Bob falling in love with Aunt Bee. πŸ˜„ At least he’s not alone anymore. He must be wondering why those living creatures stared at him in fear when they will become like him after they die. LOL! He must be sad too, as he was once as living as them. πŸ˜„ You’ve made a creepy creature sounds less creepy and more human. I feel for Uncle Bob! πŸ˜… This is wonderfully written! ❀️❀️❀️ (Hearts to you though, not to Uncle Bob! LOL! )

  5. Funny story, and it reminds me of us…the living can get the undivided attention of another living being, until someone else comes along that draws our attention to them even more, and in this case the skeleton seems to have an attraction for the student (perhaps hoping she could help get another skeleton in the lab) …then when the other skeleton arrives … the attraction is distracted from the student to the skeleton. Much to the delight of the student in this case! πŸ™‚

    • LOL! That’s right! I had not thought of it that way, but that’s right! Uncle Bob is happy to have found his soul mate and he is no longer interested in the student. Hahaha!

  6. Who knew Uncle Bob had a heart? It’s not evident in the photo! I just wonder what transpires at night, when they are left alone!

I would love to read your thoughts...
