The cloudy gray day looked like I felt. I didn't know why I kept feeling this way, day after crummy day.
I thought I would be happy to see the kids go back to school. But that felt as though something important was missing.
Then, my friend, Katie called, asking me to meet her at the China Boat for lunch. We had a wonderful lunch, catching up on gossip after not seeing each other for most of the summer and we laughed and laughed.
I went home feeling much lighter, realizing what I was missing. I just needed my friend.
Louise with the blog, The Storyteller's Abode, has provided our photo prompt this week. Thank you Louise!
This is my 100 word story for the challenge, Flash Fiction for Aspiring Writers. We are given a photo prompt and approximately 75-175 words with which to build our stories with. It is fun and addicting and everyone is welcome to join. For more information, click HERE.
