The Body – Mondays Finish the Story

“After losing her head, she realized that the rest of her body was falling apart.”

Drake told her a thousand times that if she keeps having plastic surgery that after a while her body would start falling apart. Did she believe him? Hell no. She kept getting plastic surgery in the elusive search of the “perfect body”.

Now she is in fine shape and just like Drake told her, she is falling apart. Literally, falling apart. She lost her limbs to begin with and then, it didn’t take long for her head to follow.

That damn head wasn’t going to make me feel guilty. Hell no! It was her own fault, not mine! I only threw that plastic head into the dumpster where it belonged. Now her broken body is on an endless search to locate it to try and make herself whole again. She lives in the basement. I locked it. Serves her right. Nothing was ever good enough for her. The ungrateful bitch.

  1. My that escalated into something quite dark. In a way, it reminded me of the old Goosebumps books.

  2. Loved your story I cannot believe I did not see that movie might have to check it out. Plastic surgery has had some pretty bad results LOL

  3. Phew!! the second story that ends quite dark with “bitch”. Wonderfully written! It is interesting the different takes we have on that one line.

    • Certainly you can laugh! I was hoping there was some humor in it so you have made me feel better about writing it. LOL! Did you see that movie with Goldie Hawn, Bett Midler and Cher where they were these wealthy snotty women that kept getting plastic surgery and at the end of the movie they were all falling apart. Haha! It was so funny!

  4. PS I’m not so sure “bitch” is such a bad word in the UK as it might be in the US, we use it all the time, “silly bitch” Crazy B… that sort of thing

  5. Ah, yes I remember that movie Death Becomes Her –
Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep – not sure if Bette Midler was in that one.

Sometimes things are dark, but humorous in the vain of payback/revenge. And I think we’ve all been there.
    Especially as teenagers.

Thanks for stopping by the latest Cataloging Sheila. πŸ™‚

  6. The potential of repeated plastic surgery is a scary thought. At what point should the line be drawn? I think you’ve highlighted that perfectly here.

  7. Good story, Joy. I remember that story. I’m not going to say much and spoil it for those who haven’t seen it. It was dark humor, but well done and funny. Your poor character has not only lost her head, but her mind with it. Well done. πŸ™‚ — Suzanne

I would love to read your thoughts...
