Los Borrachos

On March 9, 2015, three objects were reportedly seen in the skies over the Borracho Todos los Tiempos Vineyards, which caused quite a stir among the residents of Los Borrachos. Most of the town’s folks thought it quite hilarious that a place with such a name would even have the nerve to report an alien invasion.

I am here to tell you that it is the truth. I didn’t just see them, I have a reason to believe they took me with them for awhile. Do you think the City Commissioners would listen to me? Hell no. All they did was laugh. Did you hear what I just said? They “laughed” at me.

They didn’t even believe me about being kidnapped. How long I don’t know because I was drugged. God only knows what all they did to me that I don’t even remember, or how I got these strange markings on my wrist.

Well, to hell with the Commissioners. I’ll have another glass of wine, please.

  1. Puts ‘probe’ in a whole ‘nother light…
    Eeek.
Some say that space aliens live among us. Others say that people just look strange.

And too many of us have secrets that aren’t fiction πŸ˜‰

  2. Great story. Too bad the commissioners wouldn’t believe you. Maybe they will be next! Now that will make a believer out of them. I’m with you…have some more wine.

  3. I really enjoy the challenges. I havent done anything for a Monday or a Tuesday challenge because I’m always out of town those days. I’m still learning how things work. I enjoy reading things that people come up with. The thought process is amazing. Yours on the alien was perfect.

  4. What if you invite the commissioner over and show him what happened over a bottle of wine! Maybe he would believe you then. Very interesting and well written

    • Seems to me since no one would believe her she joined the rest of the drunks (the name of the town is Spanish for “The Drunks.”) The English version of the name of the Vineyard is, “Drunk all the Time.” This was our prompt.

      • Really? Lol I didn’t know that, that’s funny… mind you, those lights in the sky do look a little weird, but I imagine they’re planes reflecting on a sunrise…. I think. What time should I receive your prompt? Sorry, I keep asking, but always forget πŸ™‚

  5. Cheers, PJ. I think we should toast to the Commissioners being taken by aliens so they can see you that you are telling the truth. You knocked another one out of the park with this one. I always enjoy reading your stories πŸ™‚

  6. I love the ending – it really casts the narrator’s story into doubt. Though the markings on her wrists are still unexplained… Great flash fiction, PJ. πŸ™‚

I would love to read your thoughts...
