Our assignment for today is to write a Limerick based on the word, Journey.
Limerick Poem – Journey
My journey through life has often been rough,
All the hard knocks and blows have made me tough.
I've learned to see beauty where most see tears,
I've learned to cherish all my wonderful years.
I know one day God will say, “Enough is enough.”
Your limerick is so beautiful 😉
Thank you! You’ve made my day!
Yeah probably will be enough one day…

Beautiful PJ! Great job!!!
Thank you Jodi! I was wondering where you were. Good to see your sweet face!
Yes. I missed hearing from you this morning 😊
Did you send out a post? I didn’t see one. Let me go look and see.
Yep. Usual 6am EST
I went in yesterday and did some major temporary changes in my subscription list. Apparently, I had accidentally changed yours when I changed the others. I have had to put emails from most of them on hold so I can read the poems coming through for the class. I changed yours back because it wasn’t suppose to be changed in the first place. I will have to say that I’m glad the Poetry class is only 2 weeks instead of 4. Are you glad or sad?
GLAD!!!!! The limerick was an awful challenge for me! 🙂
In fact, I just now sent someone in the class to go read it. It doesn’t seem at all like it was a challenge to you. It feels like it just rolled right off your pen. Amazing!!
LOL! Awh! Thanks! It actually all did until the very last word – that took FOREVER – and I am still not happy with “Port” – I considered “passport,” but it really felt like it needed one syllable. Port can mean haven or refuge, so that is what I mean by it, but it just doesn’t sound right to me. Thanks for always being such a great encourager!
Oh I thought it was all perfect! I think in poetry we are allowed to assign words different meanings! hahaha! No, it really did work!!
The young girl that I sent to read your post just wrote to me and said she just read it and was going to write one (you encouraged me to write one on the lighter side). She was having problems being motivated doing one but you motivated her!
Jodi, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your Limerick!! It is AWESOME!
Is not – but thanks all the same PJ! 🙂
Yes it is!
Yes! “Enough is enough!”, I love your endings, not to say surprising, but rounds up the poem in a beautiful way
Thank you. I hoped it would work since I needed the rhyme. 😀
Lovely! 🙂 I haven’t done mine, haha
Thank you!! I just read one that is awesome! It was done by http://lifeinbetween.me If you can find it, please read it.
I’ve checked it, yeah awesome one. I think I’ll try to write one as well 🙂 Thanks
Fantastic! The last line made it more beautiful to most beautiful! 🙂
Thank you! You just made my day!
Pleasure is all mine ma’am.. 🙂
Lovely poem, Priceless Joy. Seeing beauty where others see tears is such a vivid line. I chose my life as my journey too 🙂 This is quite a challenge, but fun too!
Thank you Carrie. Last night I had a hard time writing it because it made me so sad. LOL. But I was able to do so this morning. Yay!!
I think poetry does that, evokes heart felt emotions. The use of fewer words makes them so powerful, each one crafted and full of meaning. Glad to hear you made it happen this morning. Looking forward to reading more as the days progress!
I think you are right! That’s why I got so emotional last night because the thoughts put into the poetry was so powerful. It will be an interesting 2 weeks!
Really striking and lovely poem.
Thank you Mandi! I was finally able to write it this morning. Whew! haha! I also wrote a happy one about children. It is floating around somewhere on The Commons.
beautiful poem!
Thank you!! 🙂
That is so down to earth and beautiful
Thank you Cat! It wasn’t too depressing was it??
lol not that this depressed brain would notice 😉 It might have actually sounded cheery to me 😉
Hahaha!!! That really made me laugh. ROFL kind of laugh!
It’s good to be able to laugh at ourselves.
Yes, it really is! And it feels good too. 🙂
Your Limerick is fantastic!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. You did a great job with a difficult poetry form :-). Mine was so silly! Lol
Thank you so much but I think mine was on the depressive side! I need to go find yours so I can read it! I like the ones that are funny and light hearted so I will love yours!
I didn’t think yours was depressive at all. It was lovely
Thank you.
You have said a lot in those few lines. Loved it!!
Thank you. 🙂
I appreciate you reading and commenting Ruchi!
Lovely and inspiring words! As promised….
