Wasp Feeders

It all started years ago when I hung bird houses in my trees. One summer I happened to look inside the bird houses and wasp nests were in every one of them! I was mortified! I immediately got rid of the bird houses but I have NOT been able to get rid of the wasps. They just keep coming back year after year. Soon as I get rid of their nests, they just build another one.

This summer I hung hummingbird feeders out and after awhile the wasps started hanging around the hummingbird feeders. There would be so many wasps the hummingbirds could barely eat.

So…I made wasp feeders! (Simply a pie tin with flat rocks inside and filled with sugar water). It keeps them away from the hummingbird feeders (for the most part).

If you know how to get rid of wasps once and for all, please let me know!

Also, I thought wasps are suppose to be carnivores?

  1. Wasps don’t leave, they only sting you, circle back, and sting you again. Be careful, PJ. They are the angriest, most ornery of the stinging flyers, as far as I’m concerned. I like your idea of giving them their own feeders, far away from everything and anything else.

  2. It’s in fact very complex in this full of activity life to listen news on Television,
so I only use the web for that purpose, and obtain the most recent news.

I would love to read your thoughts...
