Personalize and New Element

For Day 7 of http://zerotohero challenge we were asked to add more personalization to our blog and add a new element.

Near where I live is an ancient Indian Ruins called Mesa Verde. Thousands of years ago these were the homes of the Anasazi Indian Tribe. These ruins are very unique because they are built on the side of very high cliffs.

They are fascinating to see because it makes one wonder how they were able to live on the side of these cliffs? How did they keep their children from falling off the cliff? How did they get their food up to their homes?

Apparently, for them, this was a place of safety from other tribes.

Sadly, the cliffs could not keep the Anasazi Indian Tribe from going extinct. It is not known how they perished. Were they killed by other Indian tribes? Did they perish from starvation or perhaps from disease? We do not know the answer to these questions. All we know, is the way they lived when they were alive on this earth and that was living precariously on the sides of very high cliffs.

    • Thank you Joy! Today I learned, write the post first, then imbed the pictures because it will give you the freedom to resize them. I imbedded the pictures while I was writing the post and it didn’t give me the option to resize. (sigh). I am learning something new every day.

  1. Gorgeous photos. I have never been to that part of the country. Reminds me of Bolivia, the Inca and Mayan ruins. The Mayan were also in the same kind of terrain and it is unimaginable how they managed to live there. A big reason for their demise was the Spaniards. Thank you for posting. Very interesting and beautiful.

  2. Great post and I love the pictures Joy. A fasinating place, Mesa Verde. I’ve been there myself many years ago, and no the Anasazi weren’t still living there when I visited, in case you were wondering. 😉

  3. Hey superb website! Does running a blog similar to this require a massive amount
work? I’ve absolutely no expertise in coding however I was hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyway, should you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog
owners please share. I know this is off topic but I just wanted to ask.

    Thanks!

    • Actually, it isn’t that hard. You are commenting on a post that I did while participating on WordPress’s “ZerotoHero” Challenge. It was a 30 day challenge where they teach you a lot of “ins and outs” of blogging. I do not use codes to build my blog. You do not need to use Codes to build your blog or to post to your blog. When I started my blog I had no idea what to do. I asked for help from bloggers but got none. I learned by hit or miss. I learned by posting. I learned by reading others posts and by exploring the WordPress “dashboard.” However, I actually learned the most by participating in their challenge, “ZerotoHero”. Although the challenge is finished, you can still go into their “ZerotoHero” page and they have all the challenges and techniques still on it for anyone that comes later. They will also be posting other challenges in the future that will be for new bloggers that are learning how to blog. Personally, I love WordPress and I type my posts on “Blogsy” (an app for iPad) and publish it to WordPress. (That is just easier for me). I hope this answered your questions.

I would love to read your thoughts...
